ISTANBUL FOUNDATION

Istanbul Toy Museum is a private museum established in April 23, 2005 by poet and writer Sunay Akın, located in the Göztepe district of Kadıköy.. The museum, which exhibits the most exclusive examples of toy history from 1700s to present, is an important cultural institution worldwide with its collection collected in more than 40 countries. The museum, member of International Museums Association (ICOM) in 2009, nominated for the "Best Museum of Europe" competition in 2010-2011 Tags and one of the best 13 toy museums in Europe in 2012. Story of the Museum

The foundation of the museum is based on the toy museum where Sunay Akın visited in Nürnberg, Germany in 1991. After this visit, Akın started with the dream of building a toy museum in Turkey, bought toys from ancients and auctions around the world for 20 years Tags.
